Sarah Webb will guide you in some story prompts and wordplay that will awaken all of your senses. Inspired by poetry from both Edward Thomas and Doireann Ní Ghríofa, Sarah encourages you to use the theme of jellyfish as a springboard for today’s creative bursts!
December First Fridays
Join us on for First Fridays on Friday, 3 December, with free admission from 6pm until 9pm (last admission 8pm). There will be lots happening around the museum, including the opening of a brand new exhibition. WHAT IS THE WORD is an audio cinematic experience presenting a curated collection of Samuel Beckett poems. We will also have an interview with the creative team behind the exhibition, a performance by artist Adam Mohamed, and a reading by writer Sue Rainsford (all events are limited capacity and on a first come, first served basis). The Commons Café will be open, too, serving wine and tapas. Book your ticket now!
Have you ever seen a dragonfly? Today’s Bright Sparks Creative Burst is about all creatures great and small. Join Sarah Webb for stories, word games and poems inspired by animals – with a cameo by Sarah’s dog, Lucky!
In Deirdre Sullivan’s second NovelTeens masterclass, she guides us through building a sustainable writing practice, divulging hints and tips that we can use to kickstart a daily routine. She highlights the importance of reading other writers, as well as setting small, achievable goals and sharing your work with your peers.
