This week’s Creative Bursts video with Sarah Webb is inspired by sea glass and beach treasure! Sarah helps us create stories and poems using her writing prompts. Happy writing!
Myth, Story, Song – Iconic Stories and Storytelling
To coincide with our exhibition Literary Cities: Edinburgh, MoLI is hosting a series of four events at the museum in April, May, September and October, featuring some of the most important established and up-and-coming names in Irish and Scottish writing and music. Our final event in the Myth, Story, Song series takes place on Thursday, 20 October, at 7pm in MoLI. Iconic Stories and Storytellers will present some of the most important and established storytellers from Scotland and Ireland for readings and conversation, against a backdrop of performances by two legendary singers. The event will feature writers Patrick McCabe and Kirstin Innes in conversation, alongside musicians Eddi Reader and John Francis Flynn.
Kindly supported by the Scottish Government in Ireland and Ebow, the digital agency.
Have you ever seen a dragonfly? Today’s Bright Sparks Creative Burst is about all creatures great and small. Join Sarah Webb for stories, word games and poems inspired by animals – with a cameo by Sarah’s dog, Lucky!
In this Bright Sparks Creative Burst explore hidden stories by using everyday junk found around the house to inspire us to create some original pieces of work. With a little inspiration from Sarah Crossan’s #wearethepoets postcards, Sarah Webb uses blackout poetry and highlights words to make a poem. Download the materials to create some poetry or prose of your very own!
