This week’s theme is inspired by Brendan Kennelly’s poem, ‘Begin’. The first line is ‘Begin again to the summoning birds’.
Wilde and Wonderful
A family workshop of storytelling, arts and crafts! This creative event will prompt children and families to engage with Wilde’s gothic masterpiece The Picture of Dorian Gray through creative writing, drawing, and crafting.
Materials will be provided to help participants create their own spooky, haunted self-portraits and to craft stories about their dastardly twin! Writing prompts are aimed at ages 8+ yrs, but younger children can participate with help and guidance from a grown-up. There are two workshops, at 12.30 and 14.15.
All ages are welcome, with grown-ups encouraged to participate as well!
Admission to the workshop is included in your MoLI ticket.
With the exception of minors (under 18), all event attendees will be required to show proof of full vaccination, or proof of recovery from COVID-19 within the last six months.
Try rewriting your story from scratch, says Darren Shan, as he guides us through the editing process.
Have you ever seen a dragonfly? Today’s Bright Sparks Creative Burst is about all creatures great and small. Join Sarah Webb for stories, word games and poems inspired by animals – with a cameo by Sarah’s dog, Lucky!
