Now the Other is a podcast which focuses on artists, musicians and makers, and the role that literature has played in their lives and work. In this episode, host Luke Fallon speaks to artist Dragana Jurišić about the importance of passing down fairytales from generation to generation, working with poet Paula Meehan, and how photography is essentially writing using light.
Dragana Jurišić is a Dublin-based artist who works primarily with image, text and video. She is a Visiting Fellow at the University of South Wales and Assistant Professor in Dublin City University. Her work is in the collections of the National Gallery of Ireland, Arts Council Collection and Irish State Art Collection. Her most recent exhibition, Something from There (2020), saw her working with a group of asylum seekers, poet Paula Meehan and the National Gallery of Ireland, and using objects brought by asylum seekers on their journeys.
