Purple Squirrel: The Stories of Chris Haughton

Purple Squirrel: The Stories of Chris Haughton

Purple Squirrel is a brand new exhibition on picturebook illustrator and writer Chris Haughton, curated by the wonderful Sarah Webb. Chris is one of our most successful authors, and often among the very first Irish writers encountered by young children. The exhibition is a lovely opportunity for children to ‘walk through’ Chris’ classic story A Bit Lost, while collecting souvenir animals along the way. And don’t worry, there are lots of interesting moments for grown-ups too!

Chris Haughton is a multi award-winning Irish illustrator/writer based in London. He has written and illustrated six books: A Bit Lost, Oh No, George!, Shh! We Have a Plan, Goodnight Everyone, Don’t Worry, Little Crab and Maybe.

Sarah Webb is an award-winning children’s writer and children’s book champion. Her children’s books include A Sailor Went to Sea, Sea, Sea, illustrated by Steve McCarthy which won the Irish Book Awards Junior Category and Blazing a Trail: Irish Women Who Changed the World, illustrated by Lauren O’Neill which won the Irish Book Awards Senior Category. Her latest book is Dare to Dream: Irish People Who Took On the World (and Won!), illustrated by Graham Corcoran.
