Learning at MoLI

Everybody has a story to tell and we are a museum for everybody.

At MoLI, we are committed to inspiring and nurturing creativity for all ages. We provide a safe, supportive and enjoyable environment where anyone can discover a world of literature and imagination, both in person and online.

We believe that excellence can be found anywhere. That is why we emphasize the values of equity, education, and creativity. We seek to bring people of all backgrounds and identities on an inspiring journey through Irish writing, giving them the opportunity to express their unique self.

Families

MoLI is a museum for everybody. We welcome families and community groups to take part in creative activities and experiments inspired by our exhibitions and gardens. Our family learning programme supports families to learn together in a fun and relaxed way. Discover our latest exhibition for families and children, or explore your creativity in our LitLab. Everyone’s welcome and – here’s the best news – we won’t ever ask you to keep the noise down!

Shut Your Eyes and See

Our Shut Your Eyes and See workshops, delivered in partnership with Maples Group, explore Irish literature, past and present, hoping to inspire the next generation to read, write, and unlock their creative potential in whatever form it takes. Available free to primary (third to sixth class) and secondary (first to fourth years) students during term-time, the programme is designed with different learning styles in mind.

MoLI in the Classroom

Can't make to the museum? Our MoLI in the Classroom workshops are delivered online in partnership with AerCap, and reach hundreds of schoolchildren across the island each year. Students explore their creativity through a range of individual and group work, wordplay and creative writing exercises in these workshops, which are available free to primary (third to sixth class) and secondary (first to fourth years) students during term-time.

The LitLab

The LitLab (on Level 4) is MoLI’s dedicated family-friendly space. Featuring children’s exhibitions and programming throughout the week, the LitLab is a bright, calm and welcoming space with a beautiful view over the Iveagh Gardens, comfy couches, a water fountain – the ideal environment to uncover creative sparks at all ages. Great baby changing facilities and a new kids menu at The Commons Café are also just a short lift ride away! Entry is included with your museum ticket (or free for MoLI members).
