Dear, Dirty Dublin

Joyce, and the City Written in his Heart

'Dear, Dirty Dublin' looks at Joyce’s Dublin – his work held a mirror up to the city and invited its citizens to look at themselves through his ‘nicely polished looking-glass’, and his books are full of the names of streets, pubs, shops, churches and schools, many of which still exist today. Explore our 3D map which show’s the various locations of Joyce’s books across Dublin or experience Wake the Streets, adapted by Susie Lopez and directed by Dave Tynan – a film which adapts Joyce’s famous novel Finnegans Wake. Set in Dublin today, it features different people reading passages from Joyce’s work in many of the places that inspired him.
