How to get here

On foot

We are on the south side of St Stephen’s Green, about 3 minutes’ walk from Grafton Street and about 10 minutes’ walk from Merrion Square, the National Gallery of Ireland, the National Museum, Dáil Éireann, Trinity College and many other city centre landmarks.

By LUAS (tram)

MoLI is approximately 2 minutes' walk from the St Stephen’s Green Luas stop, on the south side of the Green (away from Grafton Street).

By bus

MoLI is near many central bus routes, including: 7, 9, 11, 15, 16, 39A, 44, 46A, 140, 145 and 155.

By bicycle

There are two DublinBikes stations right across the street from MoLI and on-street bicycle parking nearby.

The Commons Café

Take a break in one of Dublin’s most atmospheric cafés. Set in the original student dining halls of UCD Newman House, the Commons has long been a space for sharing food and ideas amongst friends. In its newest form the Commons Café continues this wonderful legacy, showcasing Ireland’s beautiful produce and culinary heritage. The Commons Café is the perfect place to savour the flavours of Ireland in one of Dublin’s most unique literary settings.

Gardens

Escape the bustle of the city and discover one of Dublin’s most tranquil hidden gems. MoLI’s historic Courtyard and Readers Garden offer a beautiful setting for reading, reflection and quiet enjoyment of nature. Where the experience of Irish writing continues beyond the galleries.

At the heart of the gardens stands a magnificent 200-year-old tree, immortalised in James Joyce’s graduation photograph. The setting is also said to have inspired the garden in Maeve Binchy’s beloved novel Circle of Friends, making it a special destination for readers, writers and nature lovers alike.
